approaching on Thursday we thought we would check out what they have on offer.

Rex Hotel, 141 Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1, tel: 3829 2185

At the Rose Garden on the ground floor, guests receive a free glass of wine when they choose oyster fried with salt or grilled Australian Ribeye priced at VND735,000++ per dish.

The Rooftop garden offers either fried oyster or salmon fillets priced at VND735,000 per guest for each dish, inclusive of a glass of wine, and accompanied with classical music.

Majestic Hotel, Dong Khoi Street, District 1, tel: 3829 5517

The hotel will host 'Queen Night' at the Serenade Restaurant on the seventh floor from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with western dishes and wine. Admission is VND799,000 for women, VND999,000 for men and VND499,000 for kids. Women will be given a fruit juice and a gift.

Grand Hotel, 8 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, tel: 3829 4046

The Chez-Nous Restaurant will serve a buffet lunch priced at VND219,000 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with selected dishes. The Grand Cafe will serve an a la carte menu and attractive entertainment programs from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Continental Hotel, 132 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, tel: 3825 7679

A gala dinner will be hosted at the Patio Garden with more than 40 selected dishes, rocked along with music and dance shows and a lucky draw. Admission is VND550,000 per adult and VND390,000 per child with a 15% discount for ladies.

The Champagne Restaurant will served grilled delights this month, with signature dishes such as mo vit fish grilled with tamarind, chinh fish grilled with lemon and chili, coc fish grilled with ginger leaves or beef grilled with lemon grass. Guests will be given an appetizer and 10% discount at weekends.

Liberty Central Hotel, 179 Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1, tel: 3823 9269

A buffet lunch will be prepared for diners will more than 30 dishes of Asian and Western cuisine. Drinks will be served freely during the day. Guests purchasing ten tickets in advance will get one free.

Thien Hong Hotel, 52 Tan Da Street, District 5, tel: 3855 3472

Guests will be served a buffet dinner from 6 p.m. on the ninth floor with more than 30 Vietnamese and Chinese dishes and the chance to join in a singing show. Admission is priced at VND250,000 per adult and VND150,000 for kids, with a free flow of cocktails, soft drinks and fresh ice-cream.

Palace Saigon Hotel, 55-66 Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1, tel : 3829 2860

The hotel will introduce 10 signature dishes and a set menu on the romantically-decorated locations at the Palace Cafe on the ground floor and the Calibre Charner on the first floor. On women's day there will be a party from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. which costs VND99,000 per dish and VND499,000 for the set menu.

The Golden Palace on the fifth floor will also prepare a buffet with more than 40 seafood options. The buffet lunch is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs VND250,000 per person with free coffee and tea, while the buffet dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. is priced at VND500,000 per person, inclusive of beverage and beer. Female guests will be given a glass of red wine and a massage coupon VND100,000 to be used at the hotel.

Bong Sen Saigon Hotel, 117-123 Dong Khoi, District 1, tel: 3829 1516

The Green Leaf Cafe offers a tea party, allowing guests to experience numerous types of tea, cakes and snacks. The program is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and costs VND169,000 per person.

The Buffet Ganh Restaurant on the ground floor and the Lotus Center on the seventh floor offer buffets with over 40 dishes accompanied with a cooking show to instruct male guests how to make banh dap (Central region cake) for that special lady in their life. For dinner, the hotel will prepare shrimp and crab hotpot, steamed oyster and grilled American beef.

Lunch buffet is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs VND199,000 per person, with dinner buffet from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. costs VND390,000 per person, inclusive of drinks.

The Co Noi Restaurant on the eighth floor will offer a buffet priced at VND129,000 per person with many kinds of dishes.

The bakery will offer cakes with chocolate flowers and cakes shaped like handbags and lipstick priced from VND700,000.

The restaurant is offering the program 'Lady's Smoothie' with a wide range of beverages mixed with fruit juices, yoghurt and honey priced from VND50,000.

First Hotel, 18 Hoang Viet Street, Tan Binh District, tel: 3846 2944

The First Grill Restaurant will not only bring guests new food dishes but also music and dance shows named 'For my beloved women', circus and juggling performances. Guests will have a chance to win VND21 million in a lucky draw.

A buffet with more than 35 Vietnamese dishes will be prepared from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and costs VND400,000 per adult and VND260,000 per child.

Diners are sure to have fun at the buffet from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in its spacious and romantic garden area. The party will be rocked along with music shows. Admission is VND220,000 per adult and VND130,000 per child, female guests will be given gifts.
